I'm thinking about buying an iPod Touch. Now I currently have very little songs on my iPod (it's a 2gb nano that I got last summer pretty much as a stall. Now I just don't get new music 'cause the iPod's full and I hate going through all of it and picking songs) but will expand my collection when I get a new iPod. I've got $600 that I can use on whatever the hell I want. I don't know if I should buy the 32 gb Touch, or one of the iPod Classics, through which I would be saving at least $250 which I could put towards a new laptop when highschool comes around.
By the way, this is going here because I trust the people here most, and just so this doesn't get deleted...
What are some covers of songs that you like more than the original?
I don't think I've ever liked a cover more than the original, but Incubus does some pretty good covers.OK people, I need some advice.
Classic...by the time you get to highschool the newness of the Touch will have worn off and you will be kicking yourself because the money you would have saved by buying the classic could have been put on a laptop, which I treasure my laptop far more then my ipod. Just speaking from experience.
Also look into refurbished ipods, they are guaranteed if they don't work and they are usually about $50 cheaper. The site below is where I purchased my friend's ipod.
GOOD LUCK:)OK people, I need some advice.
If you think that you will take good care of an i-pod touch, it would be a good investment, you'd probably never need another one, and in the long run it may save you money. An i-pod touch can do a lot more than the classic one.
I like various covers of The Weight by the band. I really like Panic at the disco's version of it right now.
Hope you enjoy whichever one you get:)
Get an iPod Classic. I've got a 30gb that hold 7000 songs. That's plenty of music, and you'll save $$ for school. Smart choice.
American Woman - Lenny Kravitz
Anarchy In the UK - Megadeth
Baker Street - Foo Fighters
Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You - Lauryn Hill
Hey Good-Lookin' - Buckwheat Zydeco
I'll Feel a Whole Lot Better - Tom Petty
Nothing Compare 2 U - Me First and the Gimme Gimmes
Stay With Me (Live) - Train
Stone Cold Crazy - Metallica
I have a 16GB iTouch. I LOVE it.It has a lot o great features. I'm using it right now. Internet, weather, maps and stuff. You can add apps for 9.95 on iTunes. It's awesome, I suggest you get it.
I have the same problem actually.
I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go for an 80gb classic, iTouches are a bit too much,
I like all the covers AFI has done and I usually find them better then the originals.
I would say get an iPod Touch. My ex boyfriend has one, they work really well and hold alot...atleast his did. A laptop isn't something you have to worry about until college atleast. :D Need anything else just ask.
Green Day did a good cover of ';I Fought the Law'; by Johnny Cash. I also like ';Pressure'; by My Chemical Romance originally done by Queen.
definetley go with a classic, you don't really need a touch unless you're planning on watching movies/shows on it
well i think ur just 2 confused and let me hold on to the 600 until ur older
I dont know enough about ipods to give advice. I love my 32gb Video....thats all I know (and it has lasted longer than anyone who gave me advice said it would *knocks on wood*)
After the Gold Rush (Neil Young) - Thom Yorke
Crazy Mary (Victoria Williams) - Pearl Jam
No Quarter (Led Zeppelin) - Tool (here come the TDs)
Easy (The Commodores) - Faith No More
Planet Caravan (Black Sabbath) - Pantera
The Metro (Berlin) - System of a Down
Sweet Dreams - (Eurythmics) - Marilyn Manson
Blue Monday (New Order) - Orgy
Live and Let Die (McCartney/Wings) - Guns N Roses
The Man Who Sold The World (Bowie) - Nirvana
Faith (George Michael) - Limp Bizkit (well, dont you?)
Smooth Criminal (Michael Jackson) - Alien Ant Farm
itouch is way better than the classic
i take mine everywhere i go
classic only has photos and videos (and a hard drive...)
my friend had a classic and the hard drive broke, making the ipod useless (touch uses a flash)
touch has the Apps: wifi internet first of all, bigger screen for movies than the classic, and did i mention Apps?
(you can even remotely access your home computer with the touch)
MA: most of the time i like the cover as much as the original
i like lacuna coil covers. they take stuff that's not rock and then turn it in to rock. i liked stars (from dubstar which was originally dance music...) and enjoy the silence (from depeche mode, which was techno kind of)
i also liked the planet caravan cover by pantera, but consider it equal to the black sabbath. since i heard the pantera version first, it's just a little bit closer to my heart.
oops! i did it again the cover of the britney spears song by children of bodom. proof that you CAN make the song listenable. it's just so darn funny.
the man who sold the world by nirvana, originally by david bowie. i heard the nirvana one first so i guess that's why i like it more.
and as for your original question...i would go with the classic. a. you have more money left over and b. i don't know, i just don't like the touch as much...i'd be afraid of messing up the screen or something.
good luck with your decision, though! i have $400 myself and have no idea what to do with it, although i've been considering buying an iPod, like you, so i empathize with you there.
either way, enjoy the music!
