I've already went to the Sunday School at my church once. But I'm to shy and afraid to go back. I don't have to go this Sunday, but the next one i have to go again. I'm shy and I don't like to read out loud (they said that i didnt have to read, but i feel like it would be snobby if i passed). I'm veeeeeeeeery nervous about it. The teacher and everyone said to me that it's suppose to be a calm place, but when i was there, i kept looking at the clock and wishing it would be time to leave! Does any one have any advice? I can talk and say hi, but I'm not like a clown (but that will happen when i get comftorable). But really I'm scared to death! SOME ONE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! no dumb answers. I'm shy around kids my age (teens), but I'm really scared of 17-18 year olds (i have no idea why lol). Please help. I'm thinking about bring one of my friends with me, but they have there own churches.
Advice! I'm shy.....shy girl has to go to Sunday school and I'm scared.Shyness? people I need your advice?
if you keep looking at hte clock it because you dont want to be there. i get nervouse well i read because i have a accent when i read and words come out wrong. so what i do is i read what i might end up reading and read it in my head so i get the feel of it. everyine has momentes. i not shy but i dont talk to alot of people because htey look at me and htey think i'm a frak which is fine with me. if you should be yuorself. dont worry about what people are going to say. make friends with someone who doesnt talk alot either in yuor church. but if nothing happens dont worry slowly people will probably come talk to you. (although that never happened to me which is fine, they were stuck up people)Shyness? people I need your advice?
I think bringing a friend would be the perfect idea. I used to be really shy, but then I came out of my shell. If you bring a friend that is really good about being outgoing they can make you have a great time and make other people around you have a great time, and you can get to know them better and have something to talk about next time you go. Dont be afraid of the 17-18 year olds either. They are basically the same as a 13 year old. Trust me. Im 17 and I think I act basically the same as I did around 13-14. So just try to relax, and dont worry so much about it. People seriously will like you for who you are and if they dont than dont bother with them. It sounds like a cliche yes but it is the truth and it actually works. Just try talking to the person next to you if you cant get a friend to go to. Try one person at a time.
first, ask yourself why your heart rate goes up (whatever else, too) when you speak publicly. when does it start? when does it stop. then, you can address ';the problem'; at home by reading aloud, pretending people are listening? take relaxing baths before and after you go.
I'm also very shy and get nervous talking in groups. Since they gave you the option of passing, I think you should just take that option and then you won't feel so nervous... On the other hand, if you are feeling corageous and decide not to pass, you will gain some valuable experience. Either way there will be a good outcome.
ok i used to be really shy i got over it the only way i knew how by putting myself in social situations and speaking to new people the thing is they aren't strangers if you talk to them don't be afraid to say something silly cause that might be just the ice breaker you need
Well.
theres actually no reason for you to be shy.
Im not 17-18 years old, soo hopefully I wont scare youu. lol
Being Shy isnt a bad thing, but if your too self consious about it then it will be a BAD thing.
I am a very talkative person, and I dont have problems like these;
but my best advice would be to just act Casual,
After all, it is Sunday School and there probably wont be too much talking.
I hope i helpedd in some sort :)
