okay me and my frend were going to sign up for dance class
i have a lot of leg muscle from soccer (3 years) track (1 year) and swimming in my pool (7 years)
i have a little arm muscle
but not lots
what type of dance should i do?
what is modern dance?
which one would get you more fit and is funner?
and please tell me which type of dance gives you bunions so i can avoid it

I never took a dance class in my life before January and I started with Salsa and I got hooked right away. You don't need to be that flexible for it either. I ended up taking Argentine Tango, Bachata and Cha Cha too. All a lot of funPlease answer!!! people who have danced: advice on first time!?
hahaha for a first time tap or hip hop might be fun!
modern is kinda like contemporary its more of an emotional type of dance which tends to have some ballet involved
you also have to be pretty fit for the tricks which tend to be pretty cool
if you dont want bunions dont go with pointe but that would take years to work up to anyways

You should look up some dance videos online and see which kind you would like to try. I think the funnest class for a new dancer would be Hiphop. Its a really fun class to take with friends and you can get in pretty good shape taking it. If you are really serious about dance though I would start with Ballet. I would say that the only class i've only taken where the kids had bunyons was pointe.
pointe is fun but gives you bunions. Modern is like jazz and ballet mixed. Its contemporary. Ballet gets you fit and tap is verrrrryyyyy fun.
