Well, four or five years ago, I played ';1602 AD'; and loved it. A few weeks ago, I played the new Civ game for the consoles and it was great. So, I need to ask you PC gamers, which Civilization (or civilization-esque) game should I get for my computer (there are so many out there) and are there any expansion packs for that game I should look into? Thanks!!!!

I have played every version of Civilization extensively, dating back to 1991, and I am ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword is FAR AND AWAY the best.

You need to also buy Civilization IV, since Beyond the Sword is an Expansion Pack. You need not buy the other expansion pack, Warlords, however, which adds nothing and is not as good as Beyond the Sword.

Civ 4 with all expantions (warlords and Beyond the sword) is the latest for the Civ family. This would be the one for PC that I would recommend.
As far as I know Civilization with the Beyond the Sword extension is the best.
