I have EXACTLY one month from today to train for my first 5k! The last time I ran was in December and I had a time of 32 min :( cause I just started getting into running.
I actually forgot that I signed up for it until last week... so can anyone give me some advice on how to train for it and what to expect??? I know I won't be that fast but I don't want to walk any parts of it at least... need to work on my staminaWhere's my Cross Country people at!??!!??!! :) I need advice real quick!!!?
i suggest you start off running 6 days a week
you should be able to do about a mile 1/2 and about every 3 days add another half a mile until you can do 4 miles and stick to that distance
another important thing is that you eat right bananas are really good and you should eat some the day before the race
two days before your race take it easy by diong 1-2 miles
good luck :)Where's my Cross Country people at!??!!??!! :) I need advice real quick!!!?
Try doing runs everyday. If you're not in shape don't start by running like 10 miles because it will only tire you out. Start with something like a mile, then two miles, then 3 and 4 and if you can do the 4 mile without stopping the 5k will be a breeze.
good luck. my advice is run run run. since cross country season is over i am just running and building up until fall again and i am working on a long term injury to my ankle. i am working with the muscle in my ankle and i am trying to make it stronger.
add 1k to your running everyday (until you get a little past like 7k or so that way you think the 5k is easy.), dont use a treadmill - it wonte be the same, lift weights, eat right.
