Advice from experienced birth control (pills) people please!?

i started seasonique about 5.5 months ago. almost time for 2nd period.

everything is fine, except for mood swings. so, im thinking of changing pills.

i used to be happy always, barely ever upset or angry. now i go from that self to being upset at least once a day. i can get over it quickly and still have an overall good day, but my boyfriend thinks its anxiety. which is also a symptom of this medicine according to other peoples reviews.

im sure this switch is from the birth control, but don't most have this side effect? like i said everything else is great, so is it worth it to have small mood swings than to switch to a med that may be worse for my body?

opinions please! :]

oh, and should i give my body more time to adjust?Advice from experienced birth control (pills) people please!?
I would suggest talking to your OBGYN about this. Most birth controls have side effects, that is true, but what you need to decide is if this change of attitude is effecting your life to a point where you are no longer happy. If this is the case, you may want to switch. Like I said, talk to your OBGYN, they are there to help and have the most information.Advice from experienced birth control (pills) people please!?
You may need to try a different pill. I was on marvelon (the first time i ever took pills) and lasted only a month because i turned into a monster snapping at everyone over everything. i then tried tri-cyclen lo, and had no mood swings at all. it took my body about 3 months to get used to it though (i had a lot of nausea).

I would say that if after almost 6 months you are still feeling side effects you may need to try a different pill that will mesh better wtih your body.

good luck!
You need to give any pill at least a whole year! After a year, if your mood is still bad, and you still want to switch, then you can. But its bad for your bady to keep changing up all those hormones.
Talk to your doctor about the mood swings. I was on the pill years ago and had to go off it because I was crying all the time for no reason.
Try the NuevoRing. It's awesome!
ALL GIRLS WHO ARE THINKING ABOUT BIRTH CONTROL READ THIS!

Get off that seasonique right away! Ladies listen, your body has a period every month for a reason, taking something that gives you less periods a year then you should have is bad for you and is messing with the natural order of things inside your body.

I know we all hate to have our periods every month BUT taking a pill everyday is not as bad as they make it sound.

In fact, having a normal birth control regiment, is safer and has more benefits. they are

1. You get a normal dose of hormones everyday, NOT a does thats so high it prevents pregnancy for 3 months. Think about it! if you take something that prevents pregnancy for three months with ONE DOSE, thats a HIGH dose of hormones and that can cause really bad mood swings.

2. The everyday pill has been on the market for YEARS. So you know youre not going to read in a year from now that its being recalled bc its causing some crazy disease.

3.If you get pregnant and your using birth control that causes you to only have 4 periods, You wont even know your pregnant till your months and months in! PMS SYMPTOMS CAN BE VERY SIMILAR TO PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS.

SO LADIES MY ADVICE: I use ortho tri cyclen LO. The high one made me gain weight so dont use that one. But the low is great, not only does it protect you from pregnancy the first day you start start taking it,it gives you lighter periods AND MOST IMPORTANTLY FOR ME, I NEVER GET P.M.S. which for me is a big deal bc when i wasnt on it, I WOULD GET THE WORST MOOD SWINGS AND THE WORST CRAMPS. Eve since Ive been using this pill, not a thing. Im telling you, ask your doctor about it because having fewer periods is not worth risking your health.
If all you worry about is being in a bad mood once a day, you're whining too much. It could be a lot worse, there are pills that make you puke and really nauseated. some makey ou gain weight, some make you feel much worse than just having mood swings. Accept it, no pill is going to be perfect. I've been on many types of birth controls, and one thing ive come to notice is that the best one is alesse for me, even though I have mood swings, I havent' gained weight, haven't been nauseated which was a huge thing for me, so just accept it, you found a birth control pill that reacts the least with your body, get over it and try to be happy. You said yourself you ca deal with it. I think the only case you sould ever switch is if the symptoms become unmanageable and effect your health and make it hard for you to live day to day normally.
I'm very sensitive to birth control. I've tried just about everything out there. The best thing I tried was ortho tri cyclen low, but you have to take a pill everday so if you can't remember that try the nuva-ring. It didn't works as well as the Ortho low dose but it was easier to remember. Some of the worst things I tried were the Depo Provera shot. It was the worst. I gained 15 pounds in 3 years while on it and was an angry emotional train wreck. The Patch, it fell off sometimes and left red spots. I was also very emotional and angry all the time. I disagree about giving your body a whole year to adjust. I think six months is long enough. I don't like the ones that cause you to have fewer periods. I think those really screw with your hormones and cause you to become a beast. After I took depo for six months I stopped getting a period at all, and I am honestly suprised I didn't kill myself or someone else when I was on it. I was that hormonally emotional.
