I have a boss who I get along with for the most part, but there is one problem. He always finds someone else to blame if something is wrong. Its always either my fault or someone elses fault never his own. I don't like it when people look to blame others for everything. If I make a mistake then I will say its my fault and fix it, everyone makes mistakes, but for him, its someone else to blame. I don;t know how to deal with this type of situation. Sometimes I feel like saying to him to '; wake up and take responsibility'; but I don;t have that in me. So should I just ignore and chaulk it up to its his ';personality';? It would be hard for me to find a new job because I like where I work, but its one of my boss's personilty quirks that I can't standAdvice, on how to deal with people who pass blame?
You know everybody deals with that at their job. I have yet to work for someone who actually takes responsibility for their actions. It seems there's some unwritten rule if you're the boss you don't take responsibility you blame it on someone else. So I would say... don't quit your job because of that. You will deal with that no matter where you go.Advice, on how to deal with people who pass blame?
You are right to say to him ';you need to quit blaming others and take a look at yourself and be accountable';. You said it yourself that's what you want to say and that's what he needs to hear. But one problem he is the boss and you like the job. Try to be creative and make a joke like come on and give a big laugh you know I didn't mess this up call him by his first name. He already knows he himself plays the blame game making a joke diffuses the situation and makes you feel better.
